Spring Trip Mammoth Cave 2016

The proceeds from the Mineral Auction in the Fall Semester support our annual Spring Trip. The organization usually covers entrance fees and lodging. The trip usually occurs overnight on a weekend just after mid-semester. Our goal is to make the trip accessible to anyone who contributes their time and effort to the Mineral Auction. This Spring Trip was to Cave City, KY. Mammoth Cave is the world's largest cave system with well over 300+ miles mapped. Our 2016 Spring Trip was filled with cave tours, sinkhole adventures and wonderful trail walks!

Fluorite Dig

The Spring 2014 trip took our members digging for Fluorite in Kentucky. It was a great break from exams and stress, not to mention finding some exciting samples! The group also enjoyed Cards Against Humanity and a lot of food Lambert's!

Bon Terre Mine

National Geographic rates this experience as one of the top ten geologic adventures by National Geographic! It's not hard to see why. This unique mine is an subterranean lake, and even permits diving!
