Join SUB - We Do The Fun Stuff!

We serve as the primary planning organization on campus, making the events students want a reality for extremely cheap or, usually, free. To stay on top of the wide variety of events we bring to campus, we're divided up into nine committees, each with their own niche of "the Fun Stuff". To get an idea of what we do, below is a list of the different committees and some of their activities/responsibilities:

Campus Traditions

  • S&T Homecoming
  •  Block Party (This is like an on-campus carnival with a live band and food!) 

Comedy

  • Brings comedians' from all over the nation
  • Sponsors campus' very own Perfect 10 Improv Group


Concerts

  • Chooses bands and fine tunes details for large scale concerts
  • Is bringing 3OH!3 to campus Sept. 28th 

Film and Video

  • Shows movies of all varieties (old/new/unreleased) with snacks
  • Check out films before they're out on DVD

Leisure and Recreation

  • A crazy mixture of events including a Poker and Spades tournaments, relaxation days, and a campus-wide Easter egg hunt

Light and Sound

  • Professional level technical expertise for lighting and sound for SUB events, Greek activities, and other S&T shenanigans
  • Open to those who are new or experienced in the Tech World; training provided, Fun included


Outdoor Activity Rentals (OAR)

  • Provides camping/outdoor equipment for cheap rent to S&T students
  • Plans float trips, Bar-B-Qs, Paintball trips, Zipline Adventures, and much more


Performing and Diversity Arts (PDA)

  • Pie and Poetry series featuring free pie and nationally renowned poets
  • Up-and-Coming musicians on their national tours performing on campus
  • Diversity speakers and special guest lectures such as Frank Warren on his PostSecret project

Promotions and Recruitment

  • Advertisements for SUB and other campus activities on sandwich boards and MinerNet
